The Beginning20160424_133503

From 1984 to 2016 “Brett Rossiter,” a local to the Dandenong area started his career in the bicycle business. At the young age of 14, Brett discovered a profound passion for cycling. From racing criteriums to road, track to velodrome, Brett lived and breathed bikes. And without even knowing it, his life career evolved from a bike builder to a successful shop owner.

Operating for over thirty years, Brett has accumulated immense knowledge and experience in the bicycle industry. Being the previous owner of stores in Narre Warren, Mornington and Dandenong over the past 20 years, Brett decided it was time for a change, establishing the “One Big Bike Store.”

The Big Bike on the Roof

The trading name took some deep thought as it was based around history of the Restorationbike store. The iconic BIG BIKE on top of the shop roof was designed and built in 1985 by the then current owner Daryl Cay with assistance of young Brett Rossiter. The BIG BIKE has been a talk of discussion by many ever since. The BIG BIKE has been on the shop roof for over 30 years and survived the harsh Melbourne weather; being high winds, scorching sun, and heavy rain & hail. In preparation for the new brand (early 2016), Brett rounded up a team of guys including former owner Daryl Cay and friends Eddie Kovacevic, Mile Vasiljevic and Murray Spits who restored the 18 ft hand built alloy monument back to it’s former glory. The name “One Big Bike Store,” represents the legacy of the known BIG BIKE held in Dandenong.
